Explain ethereum>wallets

Wallets

Wallets are applications that manage your Ethereum accounts and enable you to interact with the blockchain. They store your private keys and connect to decentralized applications, allow you to sign transactions, and manage your assets.

Most wallets can randomly generate a new ethereum account for you. If you do this, be sure to safely store your seedphrase (next lesson).

If you want to recover an ethereum account, be sure to fully trust the wallet provider before putting your seedphrase in.

With wallets you can connect to decentralized applications and sign transactions. Your wallet acts as a gatekeeper, letting you approve or reject each action before it's submitted to the blockchain.

Always check if you are on the correct URL (also spelling!) of the decentralized application you want to connect to. Do not ever connect to a page you do not trust and always try to understand what a transaction does before you sign it.
